C and Fortran Library for the 68000

This directory group contains the source to the
Green Hills C and Fortran libraries.

The subdirectory 'arith' contains an IEEE arithmetic
package, in assembly language.

The subdirectory 'libc' contains a basic C library.

The subdirectory 'libm' contains a math library.

The subdirectory 'libf' contains a Fortran library,
which makes calls to 'libc' and 'libm' routines.

The subdirectory 'examples' contains some examples
of how to compile and link programs in a UNIX environment,
as well as an arithmetic test program.

You should read the C and Fortran library documentation.
This will tell you, among other things, that you MUST write
or modify 'crt0.c' and 'os.c' for your operating system
(or terminal driver, if you are running on a bare board).

The current 'os.c' is configured for a generic UNIX environment.
The file 'crt0.c' is not configured, although an example can
be found in 'examples/crto.c'.

There are 'makefile' command scripts in each of the
library directories. Use these, or at least the switch settings
which they contain, when building the library. This can
also be derived from the files 'howtolibc' etc. in 'examples'.
It is VERY important that the -X167 switch is used on
those files which have it specified in the makefile.

Release Notes:

Support for MIT format arithmetic has been terminated.
You must always use the -X22 (IEEE) switch when compiling
modules.
